Perintah Dasar pada Terminal Ubuntu

1. $ sudo su

Digunakan untuk masuk ke super user atau login ke user tertinggi (root). Dan masukkan password sebagai konfirmasi. Jika sudah berhasil masuk paka screenshot seperti ini akan muncul.

2. $ login

Digunakan untuk login sebagai user lain. Namun diperlukan perintah “sudo su” dulu agar dapat login.

Sedangkan untuk logout dapat menggunakan perintah “logout”

3. $date

Digunakan untuk melihat tanggal dan waktu saat ini.

$ cal 9 2012

Digunakan untuk melihat kalender bulan September tahun 2012. Sehingga formatnya $ cal [bulan][tahun]

$ cal –y

Digunakan untuk melihat kalender tahun ini.

4. $ hostname

Digunakan untuk melihat nama utama computer.

$ uname [option]

Digunakan untuk melihat informasi yang tersedia di dalam OS. [option] dapat diganti dengan syntax yang dalam pilihan $ uname –help. Berikut ini sebagian contoh uname :

5. $ $ who
Digunakan untuk mencetak semua nama pengguna yang sedang login.

$ whoami

Digunakan untuk mengetahui user saat ini.

6. $ pwd

Digunakan untuk memperlihatkan di direktori mana posisi kita berada sekarang.

7. $ man ls

Digunakan menampilkan bantuan untuk beberapa perintah.

8. $ clear

Digunakan untuk membersihkan / menghapus perintah di terminal.

9. $ apropos

Digunakan mengetahui perintah-perintah apa saja dilihat dari fungsinya secara massal

Contoh :

$ apropos date

10. $ whatis

Untuk mendapatkan informasi dari perintah secara singkat

Contoh : $ whatis date

11. $ ls

Menampilkan isi/list dari suatu directory beserta atribut filenya.

Contoh : $ ls –l

12. $ touch

Digunakan untuk membuat file baru. Contoh dibawah ini menunjukkan pembuatan file di desktop.

13. $ mkdir

Digunakan membuat sebuah directory.

14. $ cd

Digunakan untuk berpindah direktori (change directory).

15. $ cp

Digunakan untuk melakukan copy file. Ketentuannya : cp /[direktori]/[nama file] /[direktori tujuan]

16. $ mv

Digunakan untuk melakukan memindahkan (cut).Ketentuannya : cp /[direktori]/[nama file] /[direktori tujuan]

17. $ rm

Digunakan untuk menghapus file.

$ rmdir

Digunakan untuk menghapus direktori.

$ rm –rf

Digunakan menghapus direktori yang didalamnya terdapat file

18. $ more

Digunakan untuk menampilkan isi sebuah file.

19. $ cat > [namafile]

Digunakan untuk membuat file baru.

$ cat [nama file]

Digunakan untuk melihat isi file.

$ cat >> [nama file]

Digunakan untuk menambahkan tulisan pada line selanjutnya pada suatu file.

20. $ mail [nama user] < [nama file]

Pada dasarnya mail digunakan untuk mengirim email ke user lain / jaringan lain. Sebagai contoh maka kita akan mencoba mengirim mail ke diri sendiri dengan inputan file yang sudah kita buat sebelumnya. Jika perintah mail tidak ditemukan maka harus menginstall terlebih dahulu dengan cara ketik $ sudo apt-get install mailutils.

21. $ cut [nama file]

Digunakan untuk memetakan tulisan yang ingin dilihat berdasarkan kolom.

22. $ find [namafile/nama directory]

Digunakan untuk mencari file pada suatu direktori.

23. $ grep [kata yang ingin dicari] [nama file sebagai sumber pencarian]

Perintah ini berguna untuk pencarian data di dalam file, penggunaan grep akan lebih mengefisienkan waktu ketimbang harus membaca satu persatu.

24. $ ln –s [nama file/direktori]

Kegunaan perintah ini adalah untuk membuat link dari satu file/directori ke file/directori lain.

25. $ locate [nama file]

Perintah ini digunakan untuk mengetahui dimana letaknya sebuah file atau direktori. Fungsinya kurang lebih sama dengan find, bedanya locate menggunakan sebuah database (biasanya terletak di /var/lib/locatedb ) yang dapat di update menggunakan perintah updatedb.

26. $ dir

Untuk menampilkan isi dari suatu direktori.

27. $ tail [-(banyak baris terakhir)] [nama file]

Perintah ini berlawanan dengan perintah cut, tail mendefinisikan sebuah data pada file menurut barisnya. Sedikit perbedaan adalah pada tail secara default ditampilkan 10 baris terakhir dari isi file.

28. $ wc [nama file]

Perintah untuk menampilkan jumlah baris, jumlah kata dan ukuran dari sebuah file.

5 yaitu jumlah baris.

22 yaitu jumlah kata.

121 yaitu ukuran file.

29. $ sort [nama file]

Digunakan untuk mengurutkan data.

30. $ logout

Digunakan untuk logout dari system.

31. $ history

Digunakan untuk melihat perintah yang pernah dijalankan dan sudah berakhir.

32. $ sudo su reboot

Digunakan untuk reboot.

$ sudo su shutdown [option]

Digunakan untuk shutdown. Dibutuhkan tambahan syntax sehingga menjadi sudo shutdown –r yang artinya setelah computer mati akan hidup kembali. Untuk mengetahui pilihan-pilihan yang ada ketik $ sudo shutdown --help

33. $ su [options] [Nama_User]

Jika ingin berpindah dari user biasa ($) menjadi super user atau root (#) .
